About Denise
Denise brings over 8 years of professional dog training experience to Fetch This Canine, where she passionately assists dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments in reaching their full potential. Denise trains dogs based on the unique needs of the dog in front of her, adopting a holistic approach that considers every factor influencing a dog’s behavior, health, nutrition, and environment. Her goal is to uncover the root causes of challenges and create personalized solutions that promote lasting success.
Her journey into holistic pet care began with a deeply personal experience. Her first dog, Jersey, was diagnosed with lupus at 4 years old, and despite medical interventions, she ultimately succumbed to complications from the disease shortly after her 8th birthday. Witnessing the impact of medications on Jersey's quality of life sparked Denise's quest for a happier, healthier existence for her beloved companions.
Tragically, Denise faced another heartbreaking loss when her 4-year-old Doberman mix, Siggy, was swiftly taken by hemangiosarcoma. Denise also recently lost her beloved husky mix, Ari, to a suspected brain tumor. These sudden losses intensified Denise's commitment to pursuing natural and holistic alternatives for herself and her remaining dogs.
The turning point came when one of her stepdogs, Kairi, was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma shortly after her 2nd birthday. Determined to explore every avenue for Kairi's well-being, Denise fully embraced a holistic and natural lifestyle. With Kairi's cancer now in remission, Denise has become a staunch advocate for educating pet parents about the array of options available beyond conventional treatments.
Through her own experiences, Denise has gained invaluable insights into the transformative power of holistic pet care. Her mission is to empower other pet parents to explore holistic approaches and discover the potential for a more vibrant and fulfilling life for their furry companions. This dedication to holistic pet care prompted Denise to pursue certification as a holistic pet health coach, empowering her to guide clients in making informed choices for their pets.
Beyond her professional expertise, Denise extends her love for dogs beyond her own five girls by regularly dog sitting for friends and family. With a background in law enforcement, Denise brings a disciplined approach to her work while fostering a nurturing environment for both pets and their owners. In her leisure time, Denise enjoys photography, baseball, and storm chasing, which further fuel her passion for observing and capturing life’s natural wonders.
